BREAKING NEWS - Quinn Gray

Reid Gray, a wealthy founder of a health care business found a note from his wife, Quinn Gray, when he arrived home. The note said that Quinn, a mother and housewife had been abducted from their four million dollar home in Ponte Verdra, Florida.

The note stated that three men had abducted her and were demanding $50,000 in cash and didn't want him to contact the police. It's alleged that the man demanding ransom money, a 25 year old mechanic, was actually Quinn Gray's lover and accomplice. Reid Gray has continued to support his wife and believes that she is being coerced into going along with the abduction and $50,000 demand.

Reid Gray received calls from Quinn Gray and on the first call she demanded Reid drop off $50,000 at a Chik-fil-A restaurant. He drove to the area but on the next phone call Quinn Gray told Reid that he had "screwed up" because evidently police were in that immediate area.

September 6, 2009 - Quinn Gray's mother dropped $50,000 at a restaurant and some college kids picked up the money. Fearing that they were in the middle of a dope deal, they called police.

September 7, 2009 - Quinn Gray walked up to deputies at a local mall and she was taken to the Jacksonville FBI office. She told agents that her kidnapper worked for a loan shark who wanted her husband to "pay up."

Detective Kevin Kerr and others were skeptical, feeling that Quinn Gray was making up the story as she went along. Quinn Gray changed her story during a later interview. She said she had been sexually assaulted and that she was crazy at the time and just doing what she was told to do.

She told investigators the location of the warehouse where she was held and that her abductor, Jasmin, drove a white Volkswagen Jetta. Detectives found Jasmin Osmanovic, driving out of the warehouse in his Jetta. He eventually wrote his "take" of events with Quinn Gray in an affidavit.

"I met Quinn Gray about a month and a half ago. We met at a gas station," wrote the young mechanic. He described going to her house and listening to her talk about her husband having affairs and she wondered if he wished her dead. He stated that she shared her drinking problem and marital "non-bliss." She nearly split up with Reid Gray at one time and had gone to rehab at a Minnesota clinic.

On Labor Day weekend, Osmanovic claimed that the two spent time together but he didn't immediately realize she was plotting the kidnapping. While in a hotel he had left her alone several times. She could have left at any time, he stated.

Osmanovic mentioned an audiotape that he and Quinn Gray made that Labor Day weekend. Osmanovic's live-in girlfriend gave it to officers; it recorded Quinn Gray and Osmanovic having sex, plotting the kidnapping and talking about how they needed to eat more salads.

Sheriff Shoar stated that Osmanovic "is not a dumb guy" and "a very smart guy" and the Sheriff feels that Osmanovic wanted some proof and reassurance in case Quinn Gray wanted to "hang him out to dry."

Osmanovic is being held at St. John's County Jail charged with extortion. Quinn Gray is being treated at a psychiatric facility, also charged with extortion

Neither Quinn Gray's or Osmanovic's lawyers will comment. There is a pending gag order in the case. The lawyers did appear on national TV earlier in the week to talk about Quinn's long history of mental illness feeling that she eventually identified with the kidnapper.

Evidently there are no emails, text messages or cell phone records to support that it's a faked kidnapping; at least that what's lawyer Mark Miller said he believed when he appeared on The Today Show. Mark Miller said the audio tape is "an audio recording of a woman who has been kidnapped, abducted and being raped."

Quinn Gray's husband stands by his wife and states that he is not seeking a divorce.
